Ned Clark - Senior Pastor

I am the youngest of four children to Rev. Harold “Pete” and Kay Clark. My Dad had already been in the ministry for seven years at New Lisbon, IN and close to two years at Chesterfield Christian Church at the time of my birth. My mother was a homemaker, played the organ for the church, and was studying at Ball State Teachers College hoping to become a high school teacher (which she later accomplished, teaching at Anderson High School from 1964 to 1988). Having two older sisters and an older brother, my upcoming was shaped by their perspectives as well.

I began mowing lawns and delivering newspapers around the age of ten, worked for the local grocery store, and a gas station (back when such were “full-service”) during my junior high years. I also spent three years learning most aspects of the fine dining/nightclub business during high school, graduating from Anderson Highland High in 1977. After I graduated from high school, I attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. There I received a B.S. degree in Policy and Administration.

After college, I traveled some and tried my hand at various kinds of work from factories to servicing farm and industrial equipment, managing retail outlet stores and restaurants, and doing construction of homes and businesses. It was at the age of thirty-one that I “relented” to God’s call and turned to ministry as my profession of faith and service. I entered Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN the spring of 1991 and that fall accepted the position of Youth and Young Adult Coordinator at First Christian Church in New Castle Indiana where I worked for over two years. In 1994, I was offered the student-Senior minister position at East Christian Church in Markleville, IN where I worked for over eight years. During that time, I also studied at the Theological School of Anderson University. In 2002, I went into the “handyman” business while also working weekends as the on-call Chaplain for Community Hospital Anderson. In 2007, Chesterfield Christian asked me to be their Senior Minister and I started on August 13th (my parents’ anniversary!) of that year.
